Prescriptions & Refills

In order for the staff to process your medication prescriptions correctly and without delays, please follow these steps:

  1. Always try to get your refills during your office visits and not over the telephone.
  2. Do not wait to run out of medications before calling.
  3. Call your pharmacy first to confirm that you are out of your medications.
  4. Always have a list of the medications and the dose that you are taking to share with the staff.
  5. Always have the pharmacy name and telephone number to share with the staff
  6. Request for refills seven (7) days before you run out of your medications.
  7. Because this task demands much time from our staff, we ask that we be given at least 72 hours to call your prescriptions into your pharmacy.
  8. We prefer that you stick with one pharmacy and not have multiple pharmacies.
  9. Insurance companies are now very strict about filling only generic medications, therefore, please be aware that we have no control over this matter.
  10. Insurance companies do not have to allow refills on medications that are “lost”, especially when it involves pain killers, therefore, please be aware that we might not be able to give you refills when your medicine is lost.
  11. Narcotic (pain killer) medications or controlled medications will not be handled after the office is closed. Therefore, we will not be able to call these prescriptions into the pharmacies after 6:00 PM, on the weekends or during holidays. Some of these medications include but are not limited to:
